Liberty Service Dogs

Taz is being trained for PTSD.

Recognizing the need for other areas of service dogs, Liberty Service Dogs is expanding on the mission of Angel Service Dogs, Inc. to provide quality service dogs and training for such invisible disabilities as PTSD, Tourette’s Syndrome, and stability dogs.

Dogs like Taz provide another element in the arsenal that people with disabilities can utilize in seeking that independent life so many take for granted.

You can expect your Liberty Service Dog to be competent in socialization and obedience before moving on to the specialized training that is custom designed for each client.

There is support in fundraising along with a wide spread community of current volunteers for the programs, current clients and alumni.

Once the dog is ready to graduate, the client and dog will then enter into a two week training program with our trainers and others to acclimate both to not only working together as a unit, but to educate the new handler on basic dog knowledge:  mental and physical canine behavior, and health care.  The new handlers are also given the opportunity to test the handler/dog relationship in controlled situations to learn how to be a better handler and utilize the training the dog has received to its fullest.

Once the handler/dog team return home, support continues in the form of cooperative learning tools, quality/experienced advice and the help of those who have “been there, done that” from our alumni.
