On January 10, 2015, I will become a Bat Mitzvah.

Every child at my temple is required to do at least 13 hours of Mitzvah service in the months leading up to their Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

For my Mitzvah project, I have chosen to help a little girl named Freida, who has a number of medical conditions, including severe food allergies. I am trying to help Freida by raising money to get her a service dog, named Bravo. As you may or may not know, service dogs are very expensive to train. My fundraising goal is to raise at least 5,000 out of 20,000 dollars or more by my Bat Mitzvah. Even after my Bat Mitzvah, I would like to continue to help Freida and her family reach their goal and be able to adopt Bravo.

One thing that impressed me about Freida, who is only eight years old, is that even with her medical struggles, she still gives back. She sends Hannukah cards and Passover treats to Jewish soldiers overseas. Freida is such an inspiration, and I truly hope that we will be able to help raise the money for Bravo so he can help Freida.

Updated on this date:  5-5-2015, Sarah has raised:  $1814  (this amount is reflected in the Bravo for Freida campaign)
